El Gato Mountain Adventures has been offering avalanche courses since 2002. The courses are being taught mostly by Félix, a CAA Professional Member and ACMG Ski Guide. The courses' content and materials are developed by the Canadian Avalanche Centre.

There is a new course available this year: The Companion Rescue Skills (CRS). This is a one day course, hands-on in the field that covers the latest techniques in companion rescue - beacon search, probing, shovelling and emergency response.

The Avalanche Skills Training 1 and 2 replace the IRAC and ARAC courses.
